Prof. Assoc. Albana DEMI (MOSHO)

Prof. Assoc. Dr. Albana Demi (Mosho) currently serves as a full-time faculty member at “Aleksander Moisiu” University in Durrës. Prior to joining academia, she had long-term and successful experience in drafting and implementing fiscal policies during her tenure with the Albanian Tax Administration.  Dr. Demi has successfully completed her studies at the Agricultural University of Tirana, including a bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, and the academic title of Associate Professor Doctor. In addition to her accomplishments, she pursued further studies in the field of public accounting and auditing and was awarded the “International Certificate and Diploma in Public Sector Accountant and Audit” provided by CIPFA (the Chartered Institute of Public & Accountancy) in London, United Kingdom. Dr. Demi held a pivotal role in representing the General Directorate of Taxes in various projects. She worked on the drafting of tax legislation and additionally collaborated, with the “Millennium Challenge Corporation” (USA), a branch of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), on initiatives such as establishing the tax webpage, implementing the system of electronic tax declaration and payment known as “e-services,” and launching and managing the taxpayer service center. Her contributions extended to drafting manuals for the institution and fostering close partnerships with the IPA Project and the Public Administration Training Institute, as well as various business associations. She has participated in several national and international conferences, congresses, as well as published scientific papers in influential academic journals where she has shared her expertise on topics such as public finances, fiscal policies, money laundering, auditing, accounting, and tax framework.
