Dr. Mentor BEQA

Dr. Mentor Beqa is senior lecturer of International Politics and Research Methods at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at “Aleksandër Moisiu” University, Durrës and Executive Director of Institute of Political Studies “Sami Frashëri”. He graduated Journalism from University of Tirana, then pursued Master studies in International Security at the University of Geneva and received a Doctor of Political Science in International Relations from the European University of Tirana. He is author of several publications in scientific journals. He has also contributed with various public policy reports within national, regional, or international projects. Dr. Beqa has held public positions such as the Advisor and Chief of the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense of Albania during 2009-2013 and Advisor to the Minister of Interior in 2017. Dr. Mentor Beqa is an expert of National, European and International Security Policy. His areas of expertise include strategic policy, political theory with a focus on international political theory and scientific research methods. He is recently focused on research dealing with regional security and cooperation having produced several policy papers about regional cooperation and the challenges ahead for the Western Balkan countries. His academic interests include public administration, European integration, democracy, political participation and the nexus between technology and politics.
